About us
Women Empowering Women and Disabled is a Minnesota nonprofit corporation and an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) public charity. On its own channels it goes by the WEWAD Foundation.
How it began
WEWAD was founded with a simple yet powerful vision: to create a world where every individual, regardless of gender, ability, age, background, tribe, or religion, is empowered to reach their full potential. Our journey began in Nigeria, where we recognized the need for an inclusive community that supports women and individuals with disabilities.
Incorporated in Minnesota on February 22, 2024; a 501(c)(3) public charity since August 2024.
The charity is registered in Lake Elmo, Minnesota, and most of its programs reach communities in Nigeria.
Vision
A world where women, especially those with disabilities, have equal opportunities, access to resources, and the power to shape their destinies.
Mission
To empower individuals and communities through impactful programs in education, healthcare, food support, vocational training, and economic empowerment — creating sustainable opportunities for growth, self-reliance, and improved quality of life.

How it is organized
A Board of Trustees governs the foundation, and a Country Head directs the programs delivered in Nigeria.
