Who is responsible
The foundation is led by its founder and governed by a Board of Trustees, with a Country Head directing programme delivery in Nigeria.
Ms Olayinka Amope Afolabi
Founder and President
A dedicated philanthropist and humanitarian with a deep passion for making a positive impact in people’s lives. Born in Lagos State and raised in Eruwa, Oyo State, Nigeria, and currently residing in the United States, she is the visionary founder of the Women Empowering Women and Disabled Foundation and leads its work across Nigeria and the United States.
Ambassador Dr. Adekunle Badmus
Chairperson, Board of Trustees
A diplomat, entrepreneur, and advocate for youth empowerment, serving as Founder and Global President of The Global Clusters, an initiative for cross-sector collaboration across Africa and beyond. He chairs the Board of Trustees.
Afolabi Dare David
Country Head, Nigeria
An entrepreneur, media strategist, and humanitarian leader who directs the foundation’s work in Nigeria. He is a graduate of Business Studies from Lagos State Polytechnic, with further certifications in content creation management and data analysis.
How the foundation is governed
Women Empowering Women and Disabled is a nonprofit corporation formed under Minnesota Statutes Chapter 317A. Under that statute the corporation is governed by its board, which holds responsibility for the organization's direction, its officers, and its use of charitable funds.
The Board of Trustees is chaired by a trustee other than the founder. Programme delivery in Nigeria is directed by the Country Head, who reports into that governance.
